Cemetery Info


In September 1999, Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church purchased 18 acres of land at 431 Old Jonesboro Rd. with future plans of building a church on this site.

With the purchase of this land, a perpetual care cemetery was established with the desire to be both a service to the members of the congregation, as well, as the general public.


WHAT IS THE COST OF EACH SPACE?

The cost is $500 per space.


DOES THIS INCLUDE ANY OTHER SERVICE?

The $500 is the cost of the space only. However, Eastern Heights Cemetery will sub-contract the grave opening, at our cost, which is presently $325 (subject to change), for anyone wanting to use this service.


IS THE CEMETERY OPEN ONLY TO EHPC MEMBERS?

No. As it is our desire to make available this cemetery to our congregation, we offer the use of these spaces to the general public.


ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF THESE SPACES?

Yes. Bylaws have been established by the Trustees of Eastern Heights Cemetery and a copy of these bylaws may be obtained from the church office. However, one of the bylaws that should be emphasized is that all markers must be flat, due to mowing and maintenance.


HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SPACES ARE AVAILABLE?

You may contact the Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church office. The office has a map of the cemetery showing all available spaces.


WILL SOMEONE ASSIST ME IN CHOOSING A SPACE(S)?

Yes. You may contact the church office at 423-968-7134, or any member of the Cemetery Committee to set up a convenient time to meet at the cemetery.


ONCE I KNOW THE SPACE(S) I WANT TO PURCHASE, THEN WHAT?

Stop by the church office, Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. It only takes a short amount of time for the necessary paperwork and a certificate for Right to Burial to be issued to you. If these times are not convenient, contact the church office.
